The Physical Impossibility of Death (of Painting)
2009
Acrylic & Graffiti Marker on Canvas
60"x48"
Titled after Damien Hirst's iconic sculpture, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, this work explores Douglas Crimp's 1981 article entitled "The End of Painting" (which one businessman holds in his right hand), with painted figures that intervene and refuse to let death have its way.
